Our story began in New York City with nothing more than a six-bottle wine bag and a determination to build something greater. What started as a grassroots effort to share unique wines with a small circle of clients quickly grew into a dynamic importation company recognized for its entrepreneurial spirit and passion for discovery.
As demand accelerated, we scaled rapidly, navigating the complexities of international logistics and distribution with resilience and agility. When the pandemic disrupted the global wine industry, we adapted swiftly—strengthening our digital presence, reimagining sales channels, and finding innovative ways to connect with customers and partners.
Today, our focus has evolved toward empowering international brand owners to successfully enter and thrive in the U.S. market. Leveraging years of experience, deep market insight, and strong industry relationships, we provide tailored strategies that go beyond simple importation—we help brands establish their identity, expand their reach, and achieve sustainable growth in one of the world’s most competitive wine landscapes.

Matthew Ackland
Beginning a career with L'Oreal at a young age, Matthew developed a strong foundation in luxury branding, client relationships, and the art of delivering exceptional experiences. From representing top hair salons in Mayfair to opening a new salon in Dubai, Matthew returned to London seeking a new path. Driven by a passion for culture and craftmanship, this path led to a bold transition into the London wine industry, where he immersed himself in one of the world's most dynamic wine markets. Originally starting as a Sales Clerk at Oddbins Wine Merchants on Queensway, he was soon offered an Assistant Sommelier position by Alessandro Marcesan at ROKA on Charlotte Street. Matthew became Head Sommelier at Zuma in Knightsbridge, which exposed him to a cellar of the world's most rare and unique producers, providing a hands-on education in connecting fine and rare wines, with discerning consumers. Emigrating to the United States marked the next chapter, bringing European experience and global perspective to the evolving U.S. market. Matthew embarked on a new journey with the Italian Wine Merchants in New York City, Burgundy Wine Company, New York Vintners and then became Wine Director at BLT Prime in Gramercy New York City, before joining Angels' Share Wines as a key Manhattan Account Manager. Matthew worked with some of New York City's most revered buyers and Sommeliers, before deciding to follow his on entrepreneurial path. Matthew founded MA Selections in 2017 and has represented many wineries from around the globe. Now focused on his own brands and helping international producers enter the US Markets, combining a passion for storytelling with a strategic approach to growth and brand-building. Main focus: Federal & State compliance, Importation & Logistics, CBP Liaison, CBMA, COLA Submissions/Waivers.
